The Working Consort is a new collective of accomplished singers who live in London but work as professionals in other disciplines.

 

We perform the most transportive classical and classical-cross-over vocal music out there (new and old) with the aim of championing contemporary vocal music making, composition and ways of performing. In doing so, we hope to broaden the spectrum of people who engage with contemporary classical vocal music, change perceptions, and to do this ‘at cost’ for our growing audiences.

 

Each year, the group of 8 comes together for specific projects they are passionate about, focusing on close consort singing, ambitious but accessible repertoire and creative performance methods. We also love to collaborate with other musicians, groups and performers.
